“And like that, I said goodbye to my grandmother like we were two people who met in a coffee shop, shared a lifetime of stories and left wanting more, but knowing we’d meet there again.”
― Darnell Lamont Walker

April 23 is my Gram’s birthday. I went to the cemetery and took flowers to her, as I do every year. I went to the other side of the area and placed flowers on her older sister’s grave as well. My Gram raised me and her sister helped out tremendously. They continue to be a rudder and compass for me each and every day as I navigate this vast ocean called life. I miss them terribly and not a day goes by that I don’t think of them.

Happy Birthday Gram. I love you and Aunt Nell so much.
