A DIFFERENT KIND OF PREACHER MAN

At The Pyramid Institute and The Family Meeting, one of our goals is to bring encouragement and messages of perseverance to our youngsters who often face incomprehensible challenges.

It is my sincere belief that if they hear and see as many of these stories of the proverbial phoenix rising from the ashes; they too will begin to believe in the wonderful possibilities for themselves in their own lives. Our last post was such a story of Jimmy Graham, New Orleans Saints Tight End.

Another such phoenix story is the life and successes of Eric Thomas, also known as “The Hip Hop Preacher.” The motivational speaker, educator, author, activist, and minister was born in Chicago and raised in the tough streets of Detroit.

This Senior Pastor of A Place Of Change Ministries in Lansing, Michigan is another example of success that we must put in front of our struggling young people, especially messages like Graham’s and Thomas’ because their early life stories are so similar to their own.

Do three things please:

1) Visit his website and learn more about him http://www.etthehiphoppreacher.com/motivational-speakereric-thomas-biography/

2) Watch this awesome video of him at work preaching about the secret to success http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fsm-QbN9r8&feature=related .

3) Finally, read, learn, and share….Have a Family Meeting!

This Passion is the sound of our untapped resources. The brother with the Boston or New york hat that no one speaks to because he’s not from the right stock (maybe if he’s Russel Simmons). One day i see him in the library and wonder, have if suffered enough to reach out, not even knowing he’s reaching out to me.
